For sale here is a brillaint Brand new mountain/road/touring bike light set. It is very similar to many of the top end lights in design but has no band name. The output of 900 lumens is by far enough for off-road night riding. Similar lights from well known manufacturers will cost you £250

I have been using this set up for 2 months now, off road MTBing up around Leith hill, It's LUSH nothing comes close to it for the money. I was using a dinotte L200 before, This light is streets ahead.

I went out on the mighty DPNC ride today,,,, Its a mixed bag for me, always a really friendly bunch, plenty of banter, get to ride with old friends, And burn off a shit load of calories,,,,Then on the flip side, a 4hr ride means being out the house for 6 hrs, normally takes about 1hr to get over there and the same to get back, sometimes I ride back, but its a shit ride back via croydon, sutton, cheam all in the mid day traffic(chavaramma),,,, Its a slow ride never more than 26/27kph ave, lots of junk miles ,just sitting in the bunch talking shit, low power output, low heart rate etc etc,,,,, But I can't knock it, I really enjoy going out on this ride as I have made many friends . And sold a ton of cycling gear to half of them!!!!

I decided to have a shot at the Dulwichparagon womens/beginners chaingang last night!!!! What a kick in the balls, no women or beginners,,,,, ideally I was hoping for a load of size 8, early 20's decent fanny.

Even with the lack of quality fanny on show I thought fuck it, I will still go out and ask some of the younger lads if there sisters might come along next week.

We set off at a steady pace, after a shocking 20 minutes I was fucked, after 32 minutes I was heading home!!!!! I truly have no idea what went wrong, Just never had any gas in the tank, ?????? I have done very little riding over the last 6 weeks and picked up a wee bit of weight????? So basically I'm a fat fucker who needs to ride more

The last 6 months have seen many changes for me.

From 16st to 13st yes that's right 104kgs to 87kgs.
From one peaceful little baby bear to one peaceful little baby bear and one naughty little toddler yes that's right 2 baby's bears now.

From a slow fat fucker on a flash bike to a slow fat fucker on a flash bike yes that's right no change.

From 261 watts 20 min ave power to 321 watts 20 ave power.

From working 60 hrs per week to watching Jeremy Kyle and homes under the hammer.

From struggling to change brake blocks to having a small cycle workshop.

So what next ???? I always said if I could get under 87kgs I would start to race, So my main plan is to pick up a couple of KGs!!!!!!

No I'm going to take a couple of months off then hopefully start training then racing the winter series at hillingdon with the view to doing a few more races and the Marmotte 2010

Ok 2009 is almost here, the last couple of months I have been back in the saddle, Its been slow,,,really slow 23/24kph ave speed sort of rides.

2009 and its LEJOG via Ireland for me!!! 19th July I will leave Lands end and make my way to JOG via Ireland, its looking like almost 2000kms in 10 days.

I have also signed up for the dragon ride, and planning to get a few other events in before LEJOG,,, La marmotte would be my first choice but at 102kgs, 5000ms of climbing is a pipe dream

Well I've haven't posted in ages, been a busy year for me, Baby, pram,breast pumps etc,etc

I can honestly say I didnt miss the riding, It was great to wake up, scratch my balls and turn back over and not have to worry abou keeping up with that fat fucker GT

so whats the plan??????? not really sure, try and get back into some sort of shape, plenty of long slow rides over the winter, then plan my 2009,,,,,,,,,,,,, Thinking GF Felice Giamondi, GF Campag, maybe a bit of touring"route des grande alpes" would love to spend a week with the bike in the great lakes.

And I'm still as good looking x x x x x

I just cant be arsed!!!

All the bollocks with the tour, the weather in London, tons of DIY, busy at work, Asthma and hay fever, no dynamo or dulwich this week

I have still managed to ride 5 out of the last 7 days

3 x 45kms commutes
2 x 110kms solo surrey hills rides

nothing very fast, ave around 26kph for the whole week, but i have burnt plenty of cals around 9000.

Heading back to France in a few weeks, not planning any major rides, just want to get up every morning and get out for 3-4hrs in the morning sun

I was in Nice in march to watch contador win Paris-Nice,I was really impressed with his breakaway on the final day, But there is just something about the tour this year that stinks of shit!! I just hope for the sake of cycling he has kept his nose clean!!

Where to start? I really fancied a custom made frame but no way i could afford a go for a serotta,seven,moots,roberts, setavento I had heard about xacd on the web, £350 for a custom frame seemed like a bargain, if its shit some fool on ebay will buy it from me!

I emailed XACD around the last couple of days in May 07, Porter got back to within a 24 hrs, not the greatest command of English, but pleasant enough, Told him what I was looking for, roughly a 56cm audax frame, semi sloping top tube,clearance for mud guards and 32mm tyres(for cyclo-cross) bosses for touring racks, Emailed me back with an engineering drawing of a frame, I swapped a few emails over the next couple of weeks changing and tweaking a couple of mm's here and there, Got a final drawing which I was happy with, Told him I was keen to go ahead with the purchase, Sent me the bank transfer details and final price, £302 including shipping, I sent the money via my current account, halifax charged me £25 for the pleasure, 15 days later the frame was in my hands, no problems with import duty, customs, shipping.

I went out on the London Dynamo park ride on Saturday, Which is a lot closer and easier than getting over to Crystal Palace to join up with guys from dulwichparagon, Not sure what to do!!! unlike Dulwich they are not to keen on people turning up regularly without joining (£40 membership) which i guess is fair enough,,,,,,,, I might go out with them again next Saturday, then decide when the fat fucker GT gets back from Nice, reckons he is beating all my times on a the climbs around Nice, So i have just booked a flight, I cant have that fat fucker giving me grief for the rest of the summer, Not only are his shoes more BLING than mine, he can now beat me up the madonne and col d'eze.

So far so good, I'm building it up with a dura ace 10 speed "shock horror" triple groupset, using frogs legs brakes, have gone for an ITM vista cyclo cross fork, Bars n stem are bonty race x lite, seat post is a spesh carbon, and a Ti flite saddle, No problems fitting anything yet, frogs legs are much easier the second time, the same goes for Nokon cables, Waiting on some cable stops from wiggle, Royal mail have lost my parcel!!!!! More like some work shy cunt still has it in the back of his van.

Cracking tour so far.

Well January is now over, Training wise it went fine, plenty of long slow miles,,, The last couple of weeks the weather was a pain in the arse, My last 4 rides I have got soaked, Also got snowed on twice
I have dropped 3 KG's since crimbo, So well on track for a total loss of about 12kgs for the gran fondo campag mid June

On Thursday 15th feb it's all change, It will be my last day working for the bank, And i will fly to Cape Town in the evening for the wedding on Sunday,,,, Rest assured i will be trying my hardest to get a free upgrade from the airline, last time i used the line"were off to get married" it worked a treat!!!!
The divorce was messy but flying 1st class was a right fuckin touch!!.

I had planned to get my 1st sowing of the year done before i headed off,,,, But the cunts at Thompson and Morgan are so fucking slow at dispatching orders i had to cancel my order, They managed to take the money from my card in 2 minutes,,, but posting 2kgs of seed potatoes within 4 weeks was to much of a challenge for them,,,,,,,,, gardeners beware Thompson and Morgan are fucking shit!!!

On a brighter note i have done about 250kms on my new bike(look 595) So far so good, It feels very stiff and pretty responsive, looking forward to taking it to France in March, I will be able to report how it feels on longer rides with plenty of climbing and fast descending, It fit's into a bike case no problem.

Hopefully my next post will be from SA.

Axel Mercx and Saul Rasin, couldn't believe it when we dropped them, Saul put in a dig, But he just couldnt handle the pace, Tugboat and Andy 35st between them, are no match for a couple of out of shape pros,
Axel took the picture, saul was in the huff after we dropped him, So refused to have his picture taken with us.

So far so good, i should clock up over 300kms this week, I have cycled to/from work 3 times this week 45kmx3 =135 all on the fixie, I'm starting to really enjoy riding the fixie. No polar sensors on it, been trying to pick up a speed and cadence sensor of ebay no joy yet, If anybody has a speed+cadence sensor for s-series polar HRM get in touch

Going out early on Saturday with a few friends from Dulwichparagon 90-100kms, I'm going to work on my cadence try and getting it up a few RPM, I'm still only putting in the slow miles, feeling good for it.

Sunday i plan to head down to the Surrey hills on my own for 80-90kms, avec mp3 I have stuck loads of music on to my Ipod, mostly 90's indie stuff that i havent listened to in ages, stone roses, definitely maybe, parklife, all change, moseley shoals etc etc, Plus a couple of new albums, Razorlight,Jamie T,Klaxons, Tokyo police club.

My cycling calender is filling up fast, so far

Went out with a couple of friends from dulwich paragon, GT, Gammy leg Ken, Damian,,,, the plan was to do the short "ride of the falling leaves" backwards, which is pretty much what we done, Pilgrim's way being the highlight, Titsy hill being the low point,,,, fuck its much harder than i remembered, I had a touch of cramp on the way up, I would of stopped but i could hear GT's belly slapping against his top tube from behind,,,,,, Oh the joy it would of given him to ride past me!! Gammy leg Ken dropped us all on most of the climbs,,,, not bad for a guy who is half a leg short of a pair.

I had a puncture after only 10 mins,,, Managed to fix this no problem, I wasn't looking forward to using valve extenders on the road-side, but no major fuss to report

Stopped in a GB cycles on the way home, The 20% of everything was very tempting,,,, The 2007 specailized bikes look good, Also the new Derosa idol made the end of my wullie tingle.

Will spesh sell the roubaix/tarmac in world champs colours this year???I could be very tempted

Well Well

My planned 80-100kms turn into a leisurely 46kms, in Baltic like weather conditions,,,,, Ok thats a bit OTT but it was fucking cold up around Downe/Cudham.

i went out with Dulwich Parargon saturday ride, I'm a big fan of the DP saturday ride, Plenty of people I know go out on this ride. Its a great ride for people who have never been out with a club before, its more of a social pace than training ride, really friendly bunch, no dickwavers,,,,,, but a severe lack of Fanny " why are there so few good looking women cycling???? answers on the back of an old Christmas card please

It was good to just get out and ride again, I rode my spesh tricross, it really is a great winter bike,,,,,, 35 layers of Assos kit all most blocked the cold out.

Whilst out GT declared he also plan's to lose about 2stone/15kgs!!!!!!!!!!!!! I swear if he turns up in July 15kgs lighter than me, i'm jacking it in,,,, Back to golf for Ronniethescot " at least there is the odd bit of half decent fanny on the fairways nowadays"

I will get some pictures up over the christmas break, planning to get out on a long slow on Saturday, 80/100kms from crystal palace, I also plan to get out for a couple of hours on Christmas day (i might even try and get a couple of pictures), I will be in the land of the Gods and Greats, hopefully it will not be too windy, the wind is a massive pain in the arse up there, something that you never really think of when riding in Kent or Surrey
